CPHIA November 2023

The third edition of CPHIA was hosted by the Zambian Ministry of Health and took place from 27th to 30th November at Mulungushi International Conference Center in Lusaka, Zambia.

The topic of the conference “Breaking Barriers: Repositioning Africa in the Global Health Architecture” was explored across nine plenary sessions, several parallel and abstract sessions and dozens of official side events.

The different sessions are listed below:

  • Session 1: Pandemic Preparedness and Resilient Financing Mechanisms for Africa
  • Session 2: Fostering African-led Innovation: Advancing Local Production in Vaccines, Diagnostics and Therapeutics
  • Session 3: Delivering Universal Health Coverage in Africa – Strengthened and Equitable Health Systems
  • Session 4: For Women by Women: Access to adequate healthcare for young girls and women in Africa
  • Session 5: Safeguarding Africa’s Health Security: health emergencies, biosecurity, climate change, and multi-sectoral response mechanisms
  • Session 6: Transforming Health in Africa through Digital Innovation
  • Session 7: Whole-of-society – the Power of Engaging Civil Society, the Private Sector and Local Philanthropy
  • Session 8: Combating Infectious Diseases, NTDs and Antimicrobial Resistance in Africa
  • Session 9: Unmasking the Silent Epidemics: NCDs, Mental Health and Injuries

CPHIA 2023 was one of the largest global public health events because involved 40 different nations with over 5000 delegates who attended the conference in person and over 20,000 virtually.
